General Information
Q: What is Root 2 Fruit?
A: Root 2 Fruit is a free one-day creative wellness festival for all ages. It features beginner-friendly classes with practitioners, live performances, immersive art, vendors, and more.
Q: Is the festival really free?
A: Yes! Root 2 Fruit is free to attend. Donations are welcome and help us continue to grow this community experience.
Q: Is the festival family-friendly?
A: Absolutely. Root 2 Fruit is for all ages, with wellness and art activities for both adults and children.
Q: How do I enter the venue?
A: Cira Green is a privately-owned, publicly-accessible park open year-round. It is located at 80 S 30th Street, directly atop Cira Centre South Garage. Parking is available within the Cira Centre South Garage at 129 S 30th St, Philadelphia, PA 19104.
For those taking public transportation, Cira Green can be accessed via SEPTA’s Market-Frankford Line, as well as by SEPTA Bus.
The park can be accessed by elevators and stairs within the Cira Centre South Garage.
Q: Is there parking?
A: There’s paid & timed street parking on along Walnut street. There is also Cira Centre South Parking Garage, adjacent to FMC Tower, World Café Live, and 30th Street Station. Cira Green and Sunset Social are located on the garage’s roof. Weekend rates are $15 for up to 12 hours
Q: Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
A: Yes, wheelchair accessible elevators are located within Cira Centre South Garage.
Q: Do I need to bring anything specific to the festival?
A: Be sure to bring ID! You will need it to enter the venue. We also recommend comfy clothes, a blanket or chair, a tote or bag to carry goodies, and an open mind! Other options to consider bringing are: sun screen, a fan, spending money, a journal + pen for jotting down reflections.
If you plan to participate in wellness sessions, bringing a yoga mat and/or blocks is also a good idea (limited mats supplied).
Q: Is there seating available at the event?
A: Some seating will be available at the venue. However, if you plan to stay for the entire event, we suggest bringing a folding chair or blanket for added comfort.
Q: Is there a dress code?
A: There's no specific dress code. We encourage wearing comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely and express yourself.
Q: Is smoking permitted?
A: Cira Green is a smoke-free venue.
Q: Can I bring my pet?
A: Cira Green is pet-friendly! All pets must be on a leash. There is a small dog park on the roof as well.
Q: Can I come and go during the event?
A: Yes, you're welcome to come and go as you please during festival hours (12-5pm ET).
Q: Will there be quiet spaces available if I need a break from the activities?
A: Yes, we will have a few chairs toward the back of the venue near the restrooms for those who need a moment of calm during the festival.
Wellness Offerings
Q: How long are the mini wellness sessions?
A: Mini wellness sessions typically last about 20 minutes, allowing you to experience a variety of practices throughout the day. This year, we're offering yoga, movement meditation, pilates, family yoga, & fitness.
Q: Do I need to register in advance for classes/workshops?
A: All sessions are first-come, first-served based on space available. Arrive early to grab a spot, especially for wellness sessions with limited mats provided. Check out the full festival schedule to stay updated. Link coming soon.
Q: What other programming can I participate in?
There are many ways to enjoy your time at Root 2 Fruit. In the pop-up tent, you can visit an array of vendors, get a massage, view live painters, and browse our digital art gallery. You can also immerse yourself in the Relaxation Station, organized by our sponsors The Phoenix. In this area, you can enjoy the comfort of inflatable chairs and express yourself with arts and crafts while in the company of a sober-friendly community. We'll have pop-up workshops throughout the festival, including: Ask a Lawyer, Ask a Therapist, Intuitive hour, and Screen Printing.
Q: What programming will be available for children?
We love seeing the youth blossom and glow at Root 2 Fruit! This year, your little ones can enjoy: Family Yoga with Little Yoga Squad, Build-A-Bear workshops led by Collegiate Recovery, Arts & Crafts with Art Budz, and more! All performances and features are child-friendly (except the non-alcoholic beverages). Children should always be accompanied by an adult.
Vendors and Food
Q: Will food and drinks be available?
A: Yes! We’ll have food + drink vendors on-site, with vegan and vegetarian options available. We will have a free smoothie happy hour at 12:30pm, and a free mocktail happy hour at 1:30pm. Be sure to get there early!
Q: Can I bring my own food and drinks?
A: Outside food and non-alcoholic beverages are allowed. However, we encourage you to support our local vendors.
Q: What vendors will be participating this year?
This year, our vendors will be offering a range of products and experiences, including: handmade jewelry, permanent jewelry, visual art, hair care products, astrology guidance, custom nail designs, and more!
Q: Can I perform or vend at the festival?
A: Applications for performers, artists, and vendors are closed for this year. To be the first to know about future opportunities, join our newsletter.
