There are October events in Philadelphia 2026 for every kind of fall you want to have, from volunteer workdays and farmers markets to yoga in the park, herbal remedy workshops, drag shows, and community health summits. Open Streets: West Walnut | Walnut St & 18th St, Sundays October 4 to 25, 10 AM to 5 PM - Center City District's car-free street activation continues every Sunday through October 25. Live music, lawn games, Double Dutch, outdoor dining. Free to attend.

Orchard Tenders | Cobbs Creek Community Environmental Center, 700 Cobbs Creek Pkwy, 10 AM to 12 PM - A monthly volunteer orchard workday hosted by Cobbs Creek Environmental Center. Learn about orchard care, identify plants, and get your hands in the soil. Tools and gloves provided.

Lady Alma at The Lawn | The Lawn at uCity Square - A live performance from Lady Alma, the powerhouse vocalist and DJ known for soulful, high-energy sets. One of the better outdoor show opportunities of the fall.

One Art Volunteer Day | 5150 Warren St - One Art Community Center invites the community to tend the land every first Friday of the month. No experience needed, tools provided. Many hands make light work.

October 3

5th Annual Community Day | HMS's Backyard, 4400 Baltimore Ave, 11 AM to 2 PM - Free Community Event celebrating 144 years of HMS students and World Cerebral Palsy Day! Featuring a live performance by Ants on a Log, games, face painting, pumpkin painting, door prizes, free food & beverages, an online auction & more! Heart of Kensington Creates Art Crawl | Kensington - Part of Philadelphia Open Studio Tours, this art crawl moves through Kensington neighborhood studios and creative spaces. A chance to see the neighborhood's artists in their element.

Philly River Flow | Schuylkill River Banks, 25th & Locust, 10 AM - Donation-based outdoor yoga on the Schuylkill River banks every Sunday morning. All levels, bring your mat. Your donations support the teachers and the Schuylkill River Development Corporation.

Plant Bingo | Sweet Lucy's Smokehouse - Bingo night with a plant twist, hosted by Terrarium Therapy. Good for a low-key October weeknight out.

Made in Philadelphia Fall Market - Three days of Philadelphia-made goods, independent makers, and local vendors. One of the better fall markets for holiday shopping and supporting local businesses.

October 10

Get Fresh Daily: Black Farmers Market | Freedom Greens & Gardens, 5200 Pine St - Get Fresh Daily's dedicated Black Farmers Market, featuring 15 plus vendors of chemical-free seasonal produce, herbs, flowers, handcrafted goods, and prepared foods from Black and Brown growers across the region. SNAP accepted.

Afro Garden Market + Open Mic | d'griot gallery, 51 Maplewood Mall - Vendors lining the streets and live performances in the garden, hosted by d'griot philly. Featuring Black, Brown, and local poets, musicians, and makers. Families and dancing welcome.

Artists for Artists Global: Art Exhibition & Community Event | 5209 Germantown Ave, 12 to 6 PM - Part of Philadelphia Open Studio Tours West of Broad Street. Two-day exhibition featuring 2026 scholarship winners from Artists for Artists Global, with returning alumni. Free and open to all.
